Porozit App

This Privacy Policy describes what personal data Hello Fly Lab handles through the Porozit mobile app (for iOS and Android) and its account service (api.porosimeter.hu), why, and what rights you have. The short version: you can use the app without an account, and then nothing leaves your phone. If you create an account, we store only what is needed to keep your data in sync. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking, and we never sell data.

Using the app without an account

Measurements, saved cycles, glider details and settings are stored only on your phone. We receive none of them.

Bluetooth: the app uses Bluetooth only to find and connect to your Porozit control unit and to receive its results. It does not use your location. On older Android versions (Android 11 and earlier), the system requires the location permission for Bluetooth scanning. The app asks for it for that reason only and never reads your location.
Camera and photos: used only if you choose a company logo for your PDF reports.
Notifications: reminders during a measurement are created on your phone and are not sent through any server.
PDF reports: created on your phone. They go only where you choose to share them.

If you create an account

An account lets you keep your cycles and report branding across devices. We then store:

Account data: your email address, your password (stored only as a secure hash, never readable), your name if you give one, and the language of the app.
Sign in with Google or Apple: if you use these, we receive your email address and name from Google or Apple, as you allow it there, plus an account identifier. With Apple you may choose to hide your email address. We receive no other data from these companies, and we never receive your Google or Apple password.
Report branding (optional): company name, address, contact email, phone number and logo, if you enter them.
Saved cycles: the measurement results of the cycles you save (times, dates), and the glider details you enter: brand and model, weight range, registration or serial number, and owner name. If the owner is another person, you are responsible for having the right to record their name.

Why and on what legal basis: to provide the account and synchronisation you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), performance of a contract).

Emails

We send only emails that belong to your account: confirming your email address, resetting your password, changing your email address, and a notice when your account is signed in on a new device. We send no newsletters or marketing from the app. Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), and for the sign-in notices, the security of your account (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest).

Technical data and security

When the app talks to our server, the server logs requests with your IP address, the time and the address requested. These logs are kept for 5 days, to protect the service: to limit repeated sign-in attempts and to find faults. Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in a secure service.

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Your sign-in token is kept in your phone's protected storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). Backups are encrypted before they leave the server.

Who processes data for us

Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): the server that runs the account service, in a data centre in Falkenstein, Germany.
Cloudflare, Inc.: domain name service and storage for encrypted backups, in a bucket located in the European Union. The backups are encrypted on our server, so Cloudflare cannot read them.
RackForest Zrt. (Hungary): the mail server that sends the account emails.
Google and Apple: only if you sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to their sign-in services. Apple and Google also deliver the app through their stores, under their own terms.

Your data is stored in the European Union. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

How long we keep data

Account, branding and saved cycles: until you delete them or your account.
Deleting your account: in the app, Settings › your account › Delete account. This removes the account, the branding and all saved cycles from the service at once. Copies in backups disappear as the backups rotate: within 14 days from the backups on the server, and within 6 months from the encrypted off-site backups. We do not restore them, except to recover the service after a failure.
Server logs: 5 days.
Data on your phone stays there until you delete it in the app or remove the app.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Most of this you can do in the app (edit or delete cycles, branding and your account). For anything else, write to hello@porosimeter.hu. We answer within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Hungary, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11., naih.hu), or the authority of the country where you live.

Children

The app is a professional tool for paraglider inspections. It is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we publish the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how we use the data already in your account, we tell you in the app or by email first.

These terms apply to the Porozit mobile app (for iOS and Android) and its account service (api.porosimeter.hu), together "the app". By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Who provides the app

The app is provided by Hello Fly Lab, HELLO Kereskedelmi Kft. (HELLO Ltd.), 5600 Békéscsaba, Szőlő utca 113., Hungary, company registration number Cg. 04-09-004151, tax number 11430494-2-04, email hello@porosimeter.hu.

What the app does

The app connects to a Porozit porosity tester over Bluetooth. It shows and stores the measurement results, converts them between seconds and l/m²/min, groups them into cycles per glider, and creates PDF reports. A demo mode works without a device. The app is free of charge. You need a Porozit device for real measurements.

Measurements and reports

An aid to the inspection: the app records the porosity measurements of the Porozit device. It does not decide whether a glider is airworthy. That decision belongs to a qualified inspector, following the glider manufacturer's instructions and the rules of the country concerned.
Reference values: the ratings in the app (fail at 14 seconds or less, acceptable between 14 and 20 seconds, good above 20 seconds) are general reference values. Where the glider manufacturer gives other limits, the manufacturer's limits apply.
Correct use: results are only as good as the measurement. Use the device as described in its manual and keep it in working order.
PDF reports: you create them, with the data you enter, and you are responsible for their content and their use. A report made with the app is not a certificate issued by us.

Your account

You can use the app without an account. An account lets you keep your cycles and report branding on several devices.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and the details you give must be true.
Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell us.
You are responsible for the data you enter. If you record another person's name, for example a glider owner's, make sure you are allowed to.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings › your account › Delete account.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or the account service. In particular, do not try to access other people's accounts or data, overload or disrupt the service, access it automatically other than through the app, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Unless the breach is serious, we warn you by email first.

Rights in the app and in your data

The app, its design, its texts and the Porozit and Hello names and logos belong to HELLO Kft. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its purpose. Your data, such as your measurements, cycles and logo, remains yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide the app to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the app and the account service running and your data safe, and we back it up every night. We cannot promise that the service will always be available or free of errors. We may change, extend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the account service, we tell you at least 60 days in advance, so that you can save your data. Your data stored on your phone, and the PDF reports you have made, remain usable without the account service.

Liability

The app is provided free of charge, "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, for decisions taken on the basis of the results, or for data lost through events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or any right you have as a consumer under the law of your country that cannot be waived by agreement.

App stores

If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or its support. For an app downloaded from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We publish the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you continue to use the app after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. Otherwise the courts of Hungary have jurisdiction.
